DESCRIPTION
Karnak #501 Elasto-Brite is a co-polymer elastomeric emulsion exterior protective roof coating. Karnak #501 Elasto-Brite provides excellent protection, appearance, mildew resistance, color stability, weatherability and flexibility.

USESKarnak #501 Elasto-Brite is intended for use on asphalt roofs and primed above grade vertical surfaces such as concrete block, brick, cinderblock, stucco, wood and previously coated surfaces. Not for use direcly over APP modified bitumen membrane roof systems. Consult with Karnak Technical Services for coating APP membranes.

SURFACE PREPARATIONAllow fresh masonry to cure for a minimum of 30 days before application of Karnak #501 Elasto-Brite. Surface to be coated should be clean, free from dirt, dust, grease, oil and loose paint. Patch and repair cracks or holes with appropriate sealants or caulking materials. All porous surfaces should be primed with Karnak #505P Primer prior to the application of Karnak #501 Elasto-Brite.

APPLICATIONMix thoroughly with a mechanical mixer prior to application of the coating. Karnak #501 Elasto-Brite may be applied by brush, spray equipment or roller. In most applications, use Karnak #505P Primer before the application of Karnak #501 Elasto-Brite to ensure proper bonding of the coating to the substrate.

SPRAY APPLICATION: Utilize a standard paint spray pump. Equipment manufacturer should be consulted for more complete information.

BRUSH/ROLLER APPLICATION: Brush/roller application should be made in a two coat application, with the second coat applied perpendicular to the first.

ARCHITECTURAL COLORSWhite, Gray, Tan, Patina Green and Terra Cotta Red are standard colors.

COVERAGE RATEKarnak #505P Primer should be applied at the rate of 0.5 to 1 gallon per 100 sq. ft.. Karnak #501 Elasto-Brite coverage rate will vary depending upon the surface to be coated. The total rate of coverage should be 2-3 gallons per 100 sq. ft. applied in two applications (1-1.5 gallons per 100 sq.ft. per application) to achieve a dry film thickness of 16 to 24 mils.

CARE OF TOOLSWhile material is still wet, tools may be cleaned with water. Dry coating can be cleaned with mineral spirits or similar solvent taking the necessary precautions when handling flammable materials.

CAUTIONSDo not apply when rain is imminent. Coating must be dried before exposure to water. Store in a heated room and keep container covered when not in use. Do not thin. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid prolonged contact with skin. Dispose of in an environmentally safe manner.

COLD-PROCESS SYSTEMS AND COATING, EITHER EMULSION OR SOLVENT BASED, SHOULD ONLY BE INSTALLED ON DECKS WITH POSITIVE DRAINAGE.
