78 Cold Process Cement is a bituminous based adhesive sealant designed for the application and repair of rolled roofing bituminous single-ply membranes. When properly utilized this product adheres the membrane and seals the laps to prevent water intrusion. 78 Cold Process Cement can also be used in conjunction with any of KARNAK’s Cold Process Roofing Systems (i.e.: P-21, P-22) or with other manufacturers’ coated fiberglass felts and base sheets.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
All surfaces to be coated should be dry and free of all dust, dirt or other loose debris. Recommended application temperature is 40°F to 120°F. If applying at temperatures lower than 40°F, the substrate must be free of moisture and/or ice crystals.
APPLICATION:
Under normal conditions, 78 Cold Process Cement should be applied by wide roof brush at the rate of 2 to 3 gallons per 100 sq. ft. On large roof areas 78 Cold Process cement can be brushed, squeegeed or sprayed using airless spray equipment.
COVERAGE RATE:
Apply at 2 to 3 gallons per 100 sq. ft.
Do not use near open flame. Avoid breathing solvent fumes and prolonged contact with skin.Do not take internally. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call a physician immediately. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a heated room and keep container covered when not in use. Do not thin. Dispose of in an environmentally safe manner. Cover air intakes during application and while drying. Exterior use only. Cold-process systems and coatings, either emulsion or solvent-based, should only be installed on decks with positive drainage. Per NRCA (National Roofing Contractors Association), “The criteria for judging proper slope for drainage is that there be no evidence of standing water on a deck 48 hours after it stops raining.”
